IOANNA KARDIAKOU

Ionna Kardiakou artworks are an ode to the nature, a powerful and peaceful painting, with wild strokes partially and at the same time of an infinite softness.
A measured abstraction of nature subjects. The elements are being caressed by a changing luminosity that the artist likes to contemplate over the seasons and the day and night light cycle.
Someone can detect a truly impressionistic tendency in some of her artworks depicted landscapes. The mixed media technique used, which often incorporates sand or other materials, allows for original reliefs and gives a particular vitality to the paintings.
Floral and forest representations as well as landscapes of Greek and Provencal inspiration occupy a predominant place in the feminine and sensual artistic career of Ioanna, who also likes to paint much more masculine worlds of port environments, tankers and Formula 1.

Ioanna Kardiakou studied painting, Interior Design and Decoration at Art And Design College of Athens. She was a student of Thanassis Makris (Artist & lecturer in Athens School of Fine Arts) and attended Art History courses by Manos Stefanides (Art Historian & Professor of the Athens University). She also attended painting workshops by the artist Tassos Rigas.
She is a member of UNESCO in the field of Arts, Logos and Science of Greece under the auspices of the Greek National Committee for UNESCO and member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece (EETE). She was awarded the Certificate of Excellence in the CFA Artist of the Year 2018 by the Circle Foundation of the Arts. Her works are included in many private collections in Greece and abroad.
